Renowned Canadian-NL artist David Blackwood has returned to the subject of Ephraim Kelloway?s door many times in his career. In this unique piece, Blackwood, so well-known as a printmaker, expands his practice with sculpture and encaustic, an ancient painting medium using pigment and hot wax. The work vibrates with Blackwood?s memories of a long-lost childhood in 1940s Newfoundland.
